When Samsung lunched its Samsung S7 at the MWC 2016 we thought it was the best phone ever released until when LG gave us it challenger, the LG G5,with a new design and plenty of exciting new features. The LG G5 arguably one of the most exciting announcements of the year so far, LG’s G5 is expected to be one of the most popular Android devices of 2016.

The LG G5 features a 5.3in QHD display which offers up a pixel density of 554 ppi, making it slightly smaller than the G4’s 5.5in panel. Prior to launch there were rumors about the G5 landing with a 4K display.

Apparently, it has a second controller included, that only has power over a limited number of pixels on the screen. They are intended to stay lit up with a date and time, as well as notifications. You can also swap the clock for a lot less useful signature if that is your desire.

As for the camera LG has introduced a bunch of updates to the G5’s camera setup. For starters, it has two cameras on the back: One has 75° Field of View (FoV) and 16MP sensor; the other a much wider, 135° FoV and 8MP sensor. Captured images from the cameras can be merged together and edited with effects in real-time, it also features the optical images stabilisztion (OIS).

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is expected to be one of the most popular chips for 2016. It’s a quad-core chip (more isn’t always better) and has an Adreno 530 GPU. As you would expect, the LG G5 comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is the latest version of the mobile OS and also LG’s own UX 5.0 UI.

When it come to storage device the LG G5 will have a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. LG continues to offer expandable storage with a Micro-SD card slot.

It was rumored that the size of the battery would be increased to 4000mAh is sadly false. The LG G5 has a not so impressive 2800mAh batttery, which is removable via that slot on the bottom of the phone. You should be able to top up the battery easily with Quick Charge 3.0.

11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD, Cat 9 4G LTE, GPS,  NFC and an infrared port, fingerprint scanner on the back, Type-C USB port which is reversible and offers faster charging.
