Chinese handset manufacturer Huawei has confirmed that their mobile phone Huawei P9 is scheduled to be launched in India on August 17 2016. The Huawei P9 and the P9 Plus have been available in Europe and some countries since the unveiling in April.

The Huawei P9 is the big brother to the Huawei P8,it comes with better camera improvement,a distinguish design and a more powerful hardware. It is the latest smartphone that has an aluminum unibody construction with a high-quality 2.5D glass.


The Huawei P9 comes with a Full HD 5.2-inch IPS display and 2.5D glass. According to the specs, the display is capable of 500 nits of brightness and 96% color saturation. with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 423 pixels per inch.

As for the camera both lenses use 1.25-micron Sony IMX286 sensors which is 24% larger than the P8. Both the P9 & P9 Plus has a 12 MP dual-lens camera at the back, one with an RGB sensor specifically for color reproduction and the other purely for capturing black and white detail.

The camera is powered by picture quality algorithm co-developed by Leica. This algorithm smartly combines images taken by both the cameras. The front camera comes with a superb 8-megapixel front-facing shooter which is great for selfies lovers.


The P9 is powered by the octa-core HiSillicon Kirin 955 processor made by Huawei.The chip boasts an octa-core CPU configuration built from four Cortex-A72 with speed of 2.5GHz. The rest four power saving cores are of ARM Cortex A53 type clocked at 1.8 GHz each. The graphics is handled by the quad-core Mali T880 MP4 GPU.

In terms of memory and internal storage huawei lovers will have the option to choose from two variants, One will come with a 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage capacity while the other will come with a 4 GB of RAM with inbuilt storage of 64 GB. The handset also supports microSD card with capacity up to 256 GB.

The Huawei P9 run will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system covered by Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 skin.





The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor to provide you an extra layer of security,it also supports fast charging, and it comes with a USB Type-C port.You also have Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and NFC connectivity options.

The P9 and P9 plus will come in six colors white, grey, silver plus three variations of gold: rose, haze and prestige.

The Huawei P9 Plus features a 5.5-inch full-HD Super Amoled display and also incorporates Press Touch pressure-sensitive technology. It will be available only in 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage model. The Huawei P9 Plus is powered by the same SoC as the P9. It is powered by a 3400mAh battery.


The handset is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
